The World's Worst War Is Within/I Believe We Are Lost
I wrote this song while reading All Quiet On the Western Front. I definitely had a connection with the main character, not because I have any war experience, but because I recognized a lot of emotions he felt in myself. The second half of the title came from a part in the book where all he could say to convey his torment was "I believe we are lost." That was the entire paragraph. It's a great book, read it. Now.
